Canine distemper is a highly contagious disease among canines. Concerning various diseases that attack canines, it can be listed on the top in terms of transmission intensity, severity and mortality rates. At an incipient stage of canine distemper, body temperature of involved dogs may reach 39.5~41℃; in addition, symptoms such as anorexia, depression, aqueous secretes from eyes and noses, sternutation and diarrhea are also observed.
Dogs of all ages may be infected with canine parvovirus; and the highest incidence rate can be found among dogs from delactation to 90 days old. Occasionally, pups may suddenly show dyspnea and heart failure. In addition, myocarditis symptoms may occur in a short term, which leads to death of pups. According to species of the involved dogs in clinics, morbidity of purebred and foreign dogs is higher than that of natively bred dogs. Moreover, such a disease can occur all year round; and, its onset can be more frequent in cold weather such as winter and spring. Faeces of sick dogs is the most toxic.

People who are bit or scratched by animals affected with rabies virus, or suffer from transmucosal infection, may be attacked by rabies virus. In particular cases, rabies virus may be also infectious through respiratory tract after inhalation of aerosol.
